Residential Treatment Services for Teens
Residential is the highest level of care offered at Adolescent Growth. It is designed for teens ages 12 to 17 who are struggling emotionally, mentally, socially, academically, and in other ways. Admission to our Residential Program for teens requires a commitment of 45 days, which is the minimum amount of time it will take for immersion in our program to effect the kind of lasting change you are hoping for. There is no maximum number of days your child may stay in our program. Discharge is based on how well your child responds to treatment. The average length of stay in our residential program is anywhere between sixty and ninety days.
Adolescent Growth’s Residential Program is designed for adolescents who are stable enough that they do not require hospitalization but have yet to resolve the underlying issues that plague them. Your child does not need to have been hospitalized in order to enter our program. We regularly accept clients who have never been hospitalized but require a high level of care in order to resolve their difficult issues.
Advantages of Residential Care
Residential Treatment is a chance for your child to rest, recover, and set on a path to a new beginning. Our treatment facilities are spacious, comfortable homes located in quiet residential neighborhoods. Clients eat meals at the dinner table, attend groups in cozy living spaces, receive therapy in cheerful, richly furnished offices, and sleep in real beds in their own shared bedrooms. Staff-to-client ratios are consistently high to provide individualized care at all times. Your child will receive individual therapy up to four times per week and therapeutic programming takes place seven days per week. Teens in our care have the opportunity to travel off site every day as they visit a state-of-the-art gym, go on supervised outings, and eventually earn the privilege of off-site visits with you and your family.
Comfort and Emotional Support for Your Teen
Residents can relax and focus on themselves in an environment that is intensely supportive and conducive to recovery. Our facilities are designed and decorated with the utmost attention to detail. Color palettes are warm and inviting, art on the walls are colorful and stimulating, and therapy offices are charming, peaceful and safe.
24 hour support staff are highly trained, knowledgeable, and ready to assist your teen in times of crisis or simply when they need a listening ear. Staff at Adolescent Growth are adept at developing a rapport and immediately make your child feel welcome as soon as they walk through our doors.
A Treatment Team That Cares
Adolescent Growth develops a personalized treatment plan for every teen who enters our program. This plan is based on everything our team learns from your intake assessment, an initial assessment done with your child as well as input from your child’s past care providers. Academic history and hospital discharge paperwork is also considered.
The treatment team delivers a full range of clinical and educational services including individually tailored therapy in combination with evidence-based therapeutic services such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
Treatment includes Individual Talk Therapy, Family Therapy, Psychiatric Care, Proper Nutrition, Academic Instruction, Physical Fitness, Group Therapy and more. This fully holistic program sets the standard for premier residential adolescent treatment.
Family Participation Leads to Family Healing
Adolescent Growth Treatment Programs place a high degree of importance on the role of family in treatment. We work closely with the family right from the very beginning. We consider the family to be the most important element of treatment. Family is the support system that the teen returns home to after we help them develop the skills they need. Families participate in weekly and bi-weekly family therapy, parenting support groups, multi family groups and parent restoration weekend workshops on Saturdays. Without an adequate support system at home, adolescents often lapse back into old patterns and behaviors. We cannot stress enough the importance of family.
Therapy for the Entire Family
You will be invited to participate in family therapy with your child at our facility once or sometimes twice per week. Family therapy is facilitated by your child’s primary therapist who will help you explore your relationship, repair broken bonds and learn to communicate effectively. Within twenty four hours of your child’s admission, their primary therapist will contact you to let you know how he or she is doing and schedule your first family session.
