As a licensed social worker at Adolescent Growth, Alexandria utilizes her strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with and help others gain a newfound sense of confidence and self worth. She has an unwavering commitment to make a meaningful difference by helping individuals identify their strengths and build certain skills to maintain the gains from therapy. Alexandria has an extensive background working with adolescents. Prior to beginning her journey at Adolescent Growth, Alexandria counseled adults, couples, and children and facilitated group therapy with adolescents using various psychotherapeutic techniques.
Alexandria was born in Clearwater Florida, raised in Juno Beach Florida and currently resides in Elburn Illinois. Alexandria received her Bachelor’s Degree in psychology at Stetson University and a Master’s Degree in social work from University of Illinois – Champaign Urbana. She entered the University of Illinois with a thirst for psychology, and an excitement to understand individual and social behaviors and the science involved. In an effort to go beyond what was taught within the university curriculum and pursue her intellectual curiosity, Alexandria spent years working in a hospital, at schools, and at residential settings with children, adolescents and adults ranging from the age of 6-22 years old.
Alexandria specializes in trauma informed care, CBT, DBT and motivational interviewing. Alexandria asserts, “I love working for Adolescent Growth because of the home environment, short term treatment with an emphasis in reuniting clients with their families and providing a safe, caring environment that allows the client to thrive both in and outside of the home”.
When she is not at work, Alexandria enjoys spending time with her two dogs and cat curled up in bed watching movies, eating popcorn, or reading a great book.
