Adolescent Growth

Our Treatment Programs

Adolescent Growth is a comprehensive mental health, eating disorder, substance abuse and co-occurring disorders program specializing in the treatment of adolescents aged twelve to seventeen.  We teach teens to cope with hardship, communicate effectively, make better decisions and substantially improve their quality of life.  Our treatment facilities are located in Southern California and Illinois.

What We Treat

  • Adolescent Growth’s holistic approach to treatment views your child as an individual.  With that in mind, your child’s treatment plan will be precisely tailored to his or her unique needs.  Once your child enters our program they will be thoroughly assessed and treated according to a culmination of all of the information we gather from you, your child, their past treatment providers and our own clinical team’s current assessment.  Adolescent Growth specializes in creating individualized treatment plans for teens with Mental Health, Eating Disorders, Substance Abuse and Co-Occurring Disorders.  Below is a short synopsis of each of these four common struggles we treat with success on a daily basis.

Mental Health

Our sophisticated program treats teenagers struggling with depression, bipolar disorder, oppositional defiance disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, post traumatic stress disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder and other mental health issues.  Our experienced clinical team will help equip your child and your family with the tools they need to cope with these conditions and begin on the path to recovery.

Eating Disorders

There has been a disturbing increase in the prevalence of teenage eating disorders over the last few decades.  Children are bombarded by images of ultra thin women and ultra fit men on television, in the movies and on the internet.  These images instill in our children the harmful belief that thinness translates to social acceptance.  The internet makes it easier than ever for teens to discover unhealthy solutions to their body image issues including abusing diet pills, purging, laxatives and extreme exercise programs.   Our clinicians who specialize in eating disorders provide intensive treatment to males and females who suffer from anorexia, bulimia, binge eating and other related disorders.  Recovery from eating disorders is possible at Adolescent Growth.

Substance Abuse

Our substance abuse track boasts a multidisciplinary team of addiction professionals.  Addiction rarely occurs by itself and our clinicians are prepared to help your child deal with the root of his or her substance abuse issues. When necessary we work closely with detox centers to ensure that clients are monitored and kept safe while coming down from drug highs.  Upon completion of detox, clients are transitioned into our program for treatment.  Our multifaceted approach to treating addiction and preventing relapse includes education, intensive therapy, ongoing support to the entire family and a comprehensive discharge plan.  Recovery from addiction happens at Adolescent Growth.

Dual Diagnosis

Dual Diagnosis is when the client suffers from a mental health problem in conjunction with substance abuse.  Teens often abuse substances in order to cope with the stress and pain associated with having a mental illness.  However, illegal drugs never bring the relief that their users hope for.  They only compound the problem and create myriad new issues for the unsuspecting teen. Adolescent Growth is an accredited dual diagnosis facility that connects your teen with caring, compassionate experts in the field of co-occurring disorders.  Teens struggling with dual diagnosis will receive all of the help they need to maintain sobriety and cope effectively with their emotional and psychological challenges.
