Meet Jerusalem, the Academic Coordinator at our Sherman Oaks location. She has years of experience in supporting and mentoring young people at different stages of their mental health journey. Originally from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and raised in Los Angeles, California, Jerusalem graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.

Jerusalem has always had a passion for working with adolescents. Before joining Adolescent Growth, she gained extensive experience in the education field, serving as a teaching assistant, life coach/mentor, and after-school instructor. Jerusalem firmly believes in the power of education and mentorship to enrich young minds. She values flexibility, evidence-based practices, and advocacy as core teaching principles.

Meeting her students and their families where they are is crucial for Jerusalem, as no two students are the same. She believes that an individualized approach is the key to academic success.

Jerusalem helps clients achieve their academic goals while undergoing treatment. She finds working at Adolescent Growth fulfilling because she witnesses young people transform into better versions of themselves. Additionally, she is grateful to be part of a fantastic team that is passionate about making a positive impact on their clients. Jerusalem is a strong advocate for quality mental health care for adolescents. Her hobbies include reading, particularly biographies, outdoor activities, and spending time with loved ones.
