Dr. Gessesse spearheads the treatment team as he serves in a dedicated manner leading the healing process. Dr. Gessesse is committed to the success of each client that we treat, and he sacrificially works to provide superb consultation and direction to the treatment team. Dr. Gessesse has an illustrious academic background and training that has equipped him with the tools for excellence that is evident in what he does. He obtained specialized training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry while completing his fellowship through the University of California Los Angeles Medical Center. He graduated from UCLA with his medical degree and received his DEA and medical licenses from the University of Southern California (USC). Dr. Gessesse’s in depth medical training serves him well as he specializes in the treatment of mood, addiction, anxiety, and trauma.

Dr. Gessesse later refined his craft at LA County Hospital and later went back to Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at UCLA. He furthered his extensive knowledge to deliver comprehensive psychiatric care and assessment that is imperative to accurate diagnosis and subsequent treatment. He understands the important link between psychopharmacology and psychotherapy and he is enthusiastic in his devotion to the families at Adolescent Growth.

Dr. Gessesse sets the standard for the direction and vision of the delivery of the treatment services. He believes in treating the entire family system in order for lasting change to occur. He asserts a holistic perspective in the practice of psychiatry treating each family from a mind, body and spiritual perspective. Dr. Gessesse has participated in various research endeavors and he is ever learning and furthering his skill set so he can ensure the highest quality service delivery to the families we serve.

The love and commitment that Dr. Gessesse has for the families, staff, and mission at Adolescent Growth is evident as he has directed the team for almost six years. We are indeed blessed to have him leading the team. In his spare time Dr. Gessesse enjoys traveling, golf, basketball and spending time with his beautiful wife and beloved children.
